A Message from the Principal

Dear Finley Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! Now entering my 15th year as Principal of Robert M. Finley Middle School, I continue to feel privileged to serve this outstanding school community. Each new school year brings fresh opportunities for our students to grow academically, socially, and personally, and our faculty and staff are excited to help every child make the most of those opportunities.

At Finley, we believe that students achieve their greatest success when they feel safe, supported, connected, and challenged. We strive to create a school culture where every student knows they belong, where kindness and respect are expected, and where we all share responsibility for maintaining a positive learning environment. This year, we will place an even greater emphasis on ensuring every student feels happy, healthy, and connected to our school community, recognizing that a positive school culture is built through the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families. Our goal is not only to prepare students for high school, but also to help them develop the character, confidence, and resilience needed for success in life.

Building strong relationships remains one of our highest priorities. To provide consistent support throughout middle school, our guidance counselors and assistant principals are assigned by last name, allowing students and families to develop lasting connections with the adults who will help guide them over the next three years.
